"Although we are different, we are strong together" project has been launched

With the initiative and organizational support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, the online opening ceremony of the project "Although we are different, we are strong together" was held.

Samia Khamis, an activist of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Jordan, opened the virtual event and greeted the guests. Then the chairman of the Albanian-Udi Christian Christian Community in Azerbaijan Robert Mobili spoke about "Albanian-Udi culture and monuments". Giving detailed information about the history of the Albanian Church and the Udis, the speaker shared historical facts about the appropriation of Albanian cultural heritage and Albanian churches by Armenians resettled in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan during the rule of Tsarist Russia, and stressed the importance of fighting against Armenian provocation and falsification.

Sector Director of the State Committee on Religious Associations Tural Aliyev noted that the state treats various denominations and religious communities with great respect and care, provides them with all kinds of material and moral support, and spoke about the work done to preserve Albanian-Udi history and churches in Azerbaijan.

During the presentation, Aydan Israfilova, curator of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora on "Although we are different , we are strong together!" project, spoke about the idea and goals of the project, as well as the action plan.

In conclusion, the head of the department of the State Committee Vugar Mammadov emphasized that our country is an example of multiculturalism and tolerance, drawing attention to the importance of the project.

It should be noted that, he aim of the project is to promote Azerbaijan's multicultural and tolerant values in the world, to contribute to strengthening the position of our compatriots living in the countries where they live, to expand relations and partnerships with diaspora organizations, communities and religious organizations in Azerbaijan.
